How your client pays
Your client pays from their portal with a card. No account, no app, and the receipt is immediate.
The same private link your client has been uploading documents to is where they pay. There is nothing new for them to learn and nothing new to sign up for.
What they see
A payment block appears on their page: Payment due, the amount, your firm's name, and a Pay now button. It is marked Secure payment by Stripe, because that is who handles the card.
When it goes through they see Payment received and a thank you, immediately. They can download the invoice for their records at any point.
Card details never touch Vylan
Payment is handled by Stripe end to end. Vylan is told whether a payment succeeded. It never sees or stores your client's card.
PayPal, if you want it too
Stripe is the main rail and the one everything else is built on. You can add a second: Accept PayPal payments in your payment settings connects your firm's PayPal Business account, and your clients then get a PayPal button beside the ordinary one.
Payments go directly to your firm's PayPal Business account. With both on, the reassurance under the payment box changes from naming Stripe to the neutral Your payment is secure and encrypted. — because by then it depends on which button they press.
Heads-up: PayPal sometimes holds funds received by newer business accounts for a while. That is PayPal's policy rather than anything Vylan does, and worth knowing before you rely on it for cash flow.
Saved payment methods and auto-charge are Stripe only. A client can pay you through PayPal, but a PayPal account cannot be put on file and charged later.
When a payment fails
Cards get declined. Vylan says so plainly and offers Try again rather than leaving your client staring at an error. If you are not set up to take payments yet, they are told to contact you to arrange it instead.
